This Chattanooga walk-in shower has a built-in tile bench, a black and white hexagon mosaic floor and recessed niches, all wrapped in large marble-look tile.
What We Built
- A built-in bench tiled to match the walls, with a sloped top so water runs off
- A black and white hexagon mosaic floor sloped to a square drain
- Recessed niches with hexagon tile backs that echo the floor
- Large-format marble-look tile on every wall, floor to ceiling
Why a bench
A built-in bench makes a walk-in shower easier to use for everyone, from shaving legs to sitting down when standing gets tiring.
Hex tile on the floor
Small hexagon mosaics follow the slope of a shower floor well and give more grip than large tile. Repeating the hex pattern inside the niches pulls the whole shower together.
Water has to go somewhere
A bench top and a niche bottom both need a slight pitch back toward the shower so water never sits on them. Getting that right during framing and waterproofing is what keeps grout lines clean years later.
What a Project Like This Costs
Walk-in tile showers from Palacios start at $3,600. A bench, extra niches and mosaic details are priced after we see your bathroom.
