A lot of bathrooms have a tub that almost never gets used and a shower that is cramped because of it. Converting the tub to a walk-in shower opens up the space, makes it easier to step in and out, and gives you a shower designed around how you actually use it.
This is not a plastic insert. We remove the tub and surround, check and repair what is behind them, install a waterproofing membrane on the walls and floor, build a sloped shower floor, and tile it to your design, with a niche or bench if you want one.
Plumbing changes and the glass door or panel are coordinated with local trades, so you deal with one crew from the first visit to the finished shower.

What Affects the Cost of a Tub-to-Shower Conversion
Every home is different, so we price after we have seen the space. These are the things that move the number most:

- Tile choice and how many walls are tiled
- Curb or curbless entry
- Moving or upgrading the plumbing and valve

Our Process

Look at the Tub Area
We check the space, the plumbing behind the tub and how you want to use the new shower.
Remove the Tub
The tub and old surround come out and we inspect the walls and floor underneath.
Build the New Base
A new shower base is built and sloped to the drain, with the plumbing adjusted for the shower.
Waterproof, Tile, Finish
Walls and floor are waterproofed and tiled, and we finish with any niche, bench and trim.
Common Questions
It depends on the home. Many buyers like a large walk-in shower in the primary bath, and it usually makes sense to keep at least one tub somewhere in the house if you have small children or expect buyers who do. We are happy to talk it through at the estimate.
A real tile shower. We waterproof the walls and floor with a membrane, build a sloped floor and tile it, which looks better and lasts longer than a one-piece insert.
